Perth Wins Canada AM Contest

The Downtown Heritage Perth Business Improvement Association (DHPBIA) entered the CTV "Wake Up a Winner Community Challenge" Contest. Entries were to tell why "Breakfast with Jeff" - part of the popular Canada AM morning show - should come to that community. A key part of the entry was a DVD produced by CyberSpace Industries 2000 Inc.

The Perth entry was one of four chosen from across Canada by CTV's Canada AM, the popular morning show. As a prize, Canada AM will be broadcasting live from the main street of Perth Ontario on September 21 from 6:30AM to 9:00AM. "Breakfast with Jeff" will be serving up a pancake breakfast with Lanark County Maple syrup for the thousands expected to participate in this fun event. Everyone is welcome to join us for "Breakfast with Jeff".

NEWSFLASH (14 Nov 2004): Black Hole expected to warp time over the Town of Perth

The first proof of the existence of a "black hole" has been confirmed by scientists. This hole was discovered heading for the planet Earth and is expected to arrive on 27 November 2004. It's closest approach will be over the Town of Perth Ontario. The expected effect of the black hole will be to cause a time warp in the entire downtown area, taking much of the town back to the late 1800's. Visitors from outside the area will not be affected, but they should note a large number of townspeople from the late 1800's moving about town and operating various stores, boutiques and restaurants. Although the time warp effect of the black hole is only expected to last less than 24 hours, visitors will be able to experience what an Old Fashioned Christmas in Historic Perth might have looked like. Stay tuned to http://all-about-perth.com for further Newsflash.
