I love clothesand fashion and I love a bargain. I discovered consignment shopping for the first time when I moved to Perth in 1998, and I was immediately hooked. When Therese's Destiny Clothing closed up shop in the spring of 2003, I had given the idea enough thought that I was ready to try the consignment biz on my own. I took advantage of being resident in a home that was zoned commercial, and my daughter and I sacrificed our living room for the storefront.

Continuing to operate another existing business from my home, I hired a fulltime employee to mind the shop, and was able to keep tabs on both vnetures simultaneously. In August of 2004, I had the opportunity to relocate my business across the street into a newly relocated space that was decorated and finished to suit my requirements. What a great stroke of luck for me - the better exposure and chichi boutique-like atmosphere helped my business immeasurably.

My next venture is to open another busines modelled on my Perth location in Toronto this July, while maitaining my existing "baby" with the invaluable help of my wonderful staff. Wish me luck and shop til ya drop at Jo's Clothes!0
