The information presented below has been obtained from "The Merchants, Professionals and Tradespeople of Perth - Gus Quattrocchi", an excellent historical perspective available at urbanMarket-Perth for $25 (CDN) [tax included].

In February of 1998, the store changed from Wiseman's Shoes to urbanMarket - Perth.

urbanMarket - Perth opens it doors February of 1998

During the renovations we found the original embossed metal walls and ceiling attached to the raw planks underneath. Only the part towards the back part of the store remained undamaged. We have tried to leave as much of this metal open as possible.

Steel bars in the floor joists in the basement remained a mystery until we took the boards off the rear windows to find 1/2 inch steel bars. These were installed in 1927 when the building was a liquor store and were clearly meant to keep unwanted guests out.
