When is that last time you found a new game that was the same class as checkers or chess?
These are
games that have stood the test of time and have remained popular. We think that Gobblet is of this class.
Gobblet is a board game for 2 players. It takes minutes to learn and presents the players with a strategy
game that will both entertain and challenge.
The game is similar to tic-tac-toe in that the winning player must get four pieces on the board forming
a line vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Unlike tic-tac-toe, the playing pieces consist of three
sets of four nesting cups(like the Russian nesting dolls), each played one at a time. You may block the opponent by either moving a piece
onto the board, moving a piece already on the board, or by "gobbling" the opponents piece by placing a larger
diameter piece over a smaller diameter piece.

The idea of gobbling up another piece is new enough to be hard to remember, and the strategic
implications are far more profound than you would think. It's also hard to remember that when
determining four-in-a-row, size doesn't matter. The widest cylinders are impervious to being
gobbled, and hence of the most strategic value, and also hence, they tend to get moved around
a lot. However, when you move a cylinder, you may very well uncover a piece you've previously
gobbled, inadvertently giving your opponent a four-in-a-row victory.
This game is winning award after award. It is especially attractive for parents looking for an educational
non violent game. We think this will be a must have game for the home and/or cottage.
